This project is all about improving and protecting the Girl-Child. The project recognizes the fact that education is one proven element that determines one’s ability to move out of a domestic violence situation. Although even the economically self-dependent woman, married or unmarried encounters violence, lack of economic empowerment and resources underpins woman’s vulnerability to violence and their difficulty in extracting themselves from a violent relationship. Without economic independence women have no power to escape from an abusive relationship. Education will equip girls with basic survival skills, build their self-confidence, raise their self-esteem and enable them to be self-reliant. Once a considerable ratio of female population of a country gets proper education and awareness about their rights, the miseries of womenfolk including violence would in all likelihood be reduced if not eliminated.

Every year therefore, the foundation strives to give a scholarship award to a deserving girl-child from each of the two rural communities of Nyakach and Kibwezi. Alongside this award, there are a series of activities that aim towards giving various forms of support to girls and boys in and out of school.

A special form of support is the initiating of Stop Rape Clubs in schools. This is a brain-child of Jennifer Jadwero one of the granddaughters of Margaret Wanzuu and who was one of the three winning contestants of the Stop Rape Contest organized by the V-Day campaign held in Madison Square, New York in February 2001.
